Cambodia and Maldives have agreed to a 30-day visa waiver for each other’s nationals as they focus on efforts to revive tourism post-pandemic.

“I am pleased to see and reach a visa agreement between the two countries,” Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said at a joint press conference with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen earlier this week as quoted by Cambodian newspaper Khmer Times.

Both countries reopened their borders and lifted most Covid restrictions last year.

Cambodia is famous for Angkor Wat, royal temples and casinos while the Maldives, a collection of more than a thousand islands in the Indian Ocean, is known for its clear waters and beautiful beaches.
