The world’s biggest gambling hub, Macau, will resume flights to three Southeast Asian cities including Da Nang next month after over three years.

The other two destinations are Chiang Mai in Thailand and Manila in the Philippines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macau announced.

Other destinations to which Air Macau will resume flights next month are Osaka in Japan and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. It expects tourism to recover this year as Covid restrictions go.

It has already restarted the Macau-Hanoi service.

During the Chinese New Year holidays from January 22 to 29, over 76,000 passengers landed at Macau International Airport, equivalent to 31% of pre-pandemic levels.

Da Nang, famous for its long, sandy beaches, received 483,000 foreign tourists last year, up 4.6 times from 2021.
