Byun Ji Sub, a renowned South Korean singer in the 1980s who did the original soundtrack for the famous drama series ‘Reply 1988’, will be coming to Vietnam to perform.

The organizers of a cultural exchange event between Vietnam and South Korea have confirmed Byun as one of the performers. The event is set to take place December 10-11 at the Viet Xo Friendship Labor Cultural Palace in Hanoi.

Other performers will include Vietnamese singers Trinh Thang Binh and Suni Ha Linh, along with performances by traditional South Korean groups such as Chuncheon nongak and Hanaesori.

The show is among a series of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of friendship between Vietnam and South Korea.

In addition to the concert, there will be activities related to cuisine, trade and tourism between the two countries, which will also take place December 10-11.

Byun Ji Sub was a top ballad singer in South Korea in the 1980s with hits like “What It Means to Be Alone” and “To You Again.”

In 2016, he sang “My Dear, Come Back to Me Again” for the “Reply 1988” soundtrack, the fourth highest-rated drama in South Korean cable television history and a popular series in many countries, including Vietnam.
