Vietnam Airlines resumes Hanoi-Kuala Lumpur route

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced to resume its Hanoi- Kuala Lumpur air route after three years of suspension.

There will be be four weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, the carrier said in a statement.

Vietnam Airlines is currently operating the HCMC-Kuala Lumpur route with 11 weekly flights after resuming the service in February last year.

Malaysia was one of Vietnam‘s 10 biggest tourism feeder markets last year, with 135,000 arrivals.

Vietnam received 3.6 million foreign tourists last year, around 20% of pre-pandemic levels. It is targeting 8 million arrivals this year.

Malaysia is eyeing 15.6 million tourist arrivals this year compared to three million last year.

Both countries lifted all Covid restrictions and exempted foreign tourists from showing Covid vaccination certificates or negative test result upon arrival.
