Police in Thailand on Friday returned a Richard Mille watch worth $194,000 to a Vietnamese tourist who had left it on a taxi in Bangkok two days earlier.

The tourist reportedly took a taxi from the riverfront of Asiatique back to his hotel in Bangkok’s Lumpini Park on Wednesday night, The Thaiger news portal reported.

Upon returning to his hotel, he realized that his watch was missing and guessed he left it in the taxi.

The next day, the tourist went to a local police station to seek help.

Based on CCTV footage, police were able to contact with the taxi driver who said he found the watch behind the driver’s seat but had no way of contacting with the Vietnamese tourist to return it to him.

The driver said he intended to take the watch to the police station. However, officers were able to track and contact him before he had the chance to do so.

The tourist expressed his gratitude to the Thai police officers and the taxi driver for returning his luxurious watch.
